On August 11, 2025, Ashgabat hosted a ceremony marking the 85th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s National Poet and Hero, GozeI Shaguliyeva. The event gathered artists, writers, and cultural figures from across the Turkic world to honor her literary legacy.
A special commemorative book, prepared with the support of the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY), was presented to the poet. The publication highlights her literary journey, distinctive style, and contributions to strengthening unity among Turkic nations.
TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev praised Shaguliyeva’s role in enriching the shared cultural heritage of the Turkic world. Speakers emphasized that her poetry continues to inspire beyond Turkmenistan, fostering cultural and literary connections among Turkic peoples.
The evening concluded with performances of celebrated Turkmen musical works and readings of the poet’s verses.
