Ankara Named Tourism Capital of the Turkic World for 2026

Ankara has officially been selected as the Tourism Capital of the Turkic World for 2026, according to an announcement by Turkish Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy.

The decision was made during the 10th meeting of tourism ministers of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), which includes Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Türkiye, and Uzbekistan as members. Turkmenistan and Hungary participate as observer states.

“Ankara is one of the rare cities that represents the shared cultural memory of the Turkic world with its rich heritage, museums, and diverse cultural institutions,” said Ersoy.

He emphasized that this ancient capital, located in the heart of Anatolia, is set to become a central hub for cultural and tourism activities not only for Türkiye but for the entire Turkic world.

“In 2026, we will unveil Ankara together and continue sharing its values with our brotherly nations,” the minister added.
