An earthquake of magnitude 5.6 recorded on China-Kyrgyzstan border

Two earthquakes with a magnitude of 5.1 and 5.6 occurred in the Issyk Kul region of Kyrgyzstan.

A magnitude 5.6 earthquake occurred on the border between Kyrgyzstan and China at 5:58 am on February 27, the Seismology Institute said, Turanews.kz reports.

Tremors began on February 27 at 03:42, the epicenter was on the border of Kyrgyzstan and China, in the mountains of Kokshaltau.

The earthquake was also registered by the seismic stations of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kazakhstan. It was reported that The tremors were felt lesser in Almaty city.

At 5:58 another earthquake struck on the border of Kyrgyzstan with China with a magnitude of 5.6. The source also occurred at a depth of 35 km.
