Alanya City Theater Performs in Shymkent at Central Asian Theatre Festival
At IX International Theatre Festival of Central Asian Countries, organized by the Mukhtar Auezov Kazakh National Drama Theater and the Zhumat Shanin South Kazakhstan Regional Drama Theater, Alanya City Theater staged a compelling performance of The Old Man and the Sea by Ernest Hemingway in Shymkent.
Directed by Fırat Onur Deniz, the production captivated the Shymkent audience. The cast included Fırat Onur Deniz, Ezgi Melek Kerman, Vedat Akbulut, Esra Tığlı Kütert, Murat Demir Tetik, Emre Şen, and Güneş Çağlar, who delivered powerful performances that received enthusiastic applause.
The play, well-received by both the festival jury and attendees, was praised by jury chair and renowned Kazakh actor Asanali Ashimov. In his remarks, Ashimov congratulated the director and cast, emphasizing the significance of Turkish theater participation in fostering connections among Turkic artists and encouraging collaboration in future international projects.
