
She noted that Kazakhstan has made progress in tackling illegal content and fake news through cooperation with platforms like Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and others. Special attention is being paid to protecting minors online, supported by a 2018 law limiting harmful content.
Balaeva praised the success of Kazakhstan’s Stopfake.kz project and proposed creating a Central Asian Journalists’ Academy, a creative hub, and a shared media award for regional journalists.
