Agricultural Firm “Rodina” Launches Groundbreaking Milking Carousel in Central Asia

In the Akmolinsk region's "Rodina" agricultural firm, a new milking workshop has been opened, featuring a groundbreaking carousel system that has no analogues in Kazakhstan or Central Asia.

The event was attended by the Vice Minister of Agriculture, Amangali Berdalin, and the Deputy Akim of the region, Murat Balpan.

The launch of this complex marks a significant step in fulfilling the President’s directive to increase the share of processed agricultural products to 70%.

The robotic DeLaval milking carousel system, made by the Swedish brand, is capable of servicing 2,000 cows in just 5 hours, with a single-time capacity of 80 cows. This system requires minimal operator effort, and just 12 people manage the entire setup during a shift.

These measures will enable the Akmola region to increase milk production by 40,000 tons, or by 1.5 times, from 90,000 to 130,000 tons. This, in turn, opens the possibility for the region to supply 50% of the capital’s dairy needs.

Last year, five major dairy farms were established, with a total capacity of about 4,900 cattle. This year, plans are in place to launch two more dairy farms with a combined capacity of 1,200 cows.
