Yuri Nekrasov, head of the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Samara Region, reported that the accident occurred around 1:00 on April 8th in the Kinelsky district.
“According to preliminary investigations conducted by the State Traffic Inspectorate, it appears that the driver of a SCANIA bus, traveling on the 26th kilometer of the Ural-Mukhanovo highway, was driving at a speed that compromised road safety, leading to the vehicle veering off the road and subsequently overturning,” Nekrasov stated.
Tragically, two passengers lost their lives at the scene, with an additional 10 passengers transported to medical facilities for treatment.
The bus, registered in Kazakhstan, was transporting Uzbekistani citizens and was previously traveling on the Shymkent – Nizhny Novgorod route, as noted by the spokesperson.
