This international event, often referred to as the Olympics of the Turkic world, will feature over 2,000 athletes from 89 countries. Competitors will face off in 21 traditional sports, including rapid shooting, kukpar, baiga, tenge ilu, kures, Kazakh wrestling, tug of war, traditional archery, blue wolf, jumby atu, and orari. The tournament will take place in Astana from September 8 to 13.
With the games approaching, local athletes are in the final stages of preparation. The event is expected to draw more than 100,000 tourists to the capital, making it a focal point for the Turkic world. In response, the city is intensively working on improving and beautifying hotels and streets ahead of the influx of visitors.
