40 Chinese Citizens Deported from Thailand to Xinjiang
40 ethnic Uyghurs were deported from Thailand to Kashgar on February 27 after 11 years in detention. Thailand’s Deputy Prime Minister confirmed the deportation, while the country's Prime Minister refrained from commenting.

Reports indicate that the deportees were transported to the airport at night before their flight departed at 4:48 AM, landing in Kashgar six hours later. China’s Ministry of Public Security stated that they had illegally crossed the border.
Amnesty International condemned the deportation, warning of human rights abuses in China. The U.S. also expressed concern. In response, China’s Foreign Ministry defended the move as lawful and warned against spreading misinformation about Xinjiang.
The last large-scale deportation of Uyghurs from Thailand to China occurred in 2015.
