30th anniversary meeting of TURKSOY gives a message of unity

The Ambassadors of TURKSOY member countries to Washington met at the Azerbaijan’s Washington Embassy which was hosted by Ambassador of Azerbaijan Hazar İbrahim.

In the meeting the members have discussed the events to be held within the scope of the 30th anniversary celebrations of TURKSOY, Turanews.kz reports.

The TURKSOY delegation headed by Kazakhstan Ambassador Yerzhan Ashikbayev, Kyrgyzstan Ambassador Baktybek A. Amanbaev, Turkmenistan Ambassador Meret B. Orazov, Turkish Ambassador Murat Mercan and TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev attended the Working Meeting held on Monday, April 3rd.

Ambassador İbrahim: “It is time to show our unity to the world.”

Addressing the participants at the opening of the Working Meeting, Ambassador of Azerbaijan stated that he follows TURKSOY’s work closely and welcomes it. Stating that 2023 is an important year for the entire Turkic World,  Ambassador İbrahim said:

“The 30th anniversary of TURKSOY, the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye, 2023 Shusha Culture Capital of the Turkic World and the National Leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev was born on the 100th anniversary. We are in an important time period in which we celebrate the . In this context, I think that the activities we will organize in cooperation with the Turkic states will be very meaningful. I am pleased to host the working meeting we held today on behalf of my country, which is the Term Coordinator of TURKSOY.”

TURKSOY Secretary General Raev: “We are together. We need to show this to the whole world more.”

In his speech during the meeting, Secretary General Raev who stated that the Turkic World is experiencing its golden age, he said:

“As TURKSOY, we have prepared a very comprehensive program for our 30th anniversary. We will bring together the most special artists in our countries and bring them to the presence of art lovers. Our activities will start in Kazakhstan, the country where TURKSOY was founded, and then continue in Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan. In the second stage, we have concerts in Azerbaijan and Türkiye. On October 29, 2023, we will celebrate both the 100th anniversary of our host country Türkiye and the 30th anniversary of TURKSOY. After our celebrations in TURKSOY member countries, we are preparing to hold two historical events at the United Nations General Assembly and UNESCO Headquarters. We will bring our enthusiasm to wider audiences with various concerts in the United States and Europe. We organize all our celebrations under the auspices of our Presidents.”

At the end of the meeting, Secretary General Raev also made a statement to the members of the press:

“The whole Turkic World shared the happiness with Azerbaijan in their the Karabakh Victory. Later, we shared the pain with Türkiye after the earthquakes. Two different historical events brought our peoples closer together than ever. It tied us together and showed the world that we stand by each other no matter what the situation. Now is the time to show this unity, which is hope to the world, to more people.

The events we will organize within the scope of the 30th anniversary of TURKSOY, the very first Turkic world cooperation organization, will be instrumental in bringing our ancient culture to wider masses. In this process, we invited the Permanent Representatives and Ambassadors of our countries to the United Nations to support us. We had our first meeting with our Ambassadors in Washington. Tomorrow we will gather our UN Permanent Representatives in New York. There are two important purposes for us to organize performances in different countries with our artists.

Our first goal is to share the richness of our ancient culture with the world. At this point, we attach great importance to the concerts we will hold at the UN General Assembly and UNESCO Headquarters.

And our second goal is to increase the interaction of our diaspora with each other. Even being around the same table while planning the celebrations we will hold within the scope of our 30th anniversary is a great achievement. There are great opportunities for the Turkic World in the upcoming period. The working group that we brought together as a result of our meeting will plan our activities in detail and implement them successfully. As we increase our common achievements, our bond with each other will become stronger.”
