The festival, organized by the Union of Writers of Azerbaijan with support from TURKSOY, TIKA, and other organizations, opened with a ceremony attended by prominent figures. These included Anar Rzayev, President of the Union of Writers of Azerbaijan; Prof. Dr. Isa Habibbeyli, President of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan and Member of Parliament; Prof. Dr. Nizami Jafarov, Director of the Ataturk Center and Member of Parliament; Elchin Gafarli, Azerbaijan’s representative in TURKSOY; Hayrettin Ozcelik, TIKA Program Coordinator in Baku; Muhittin Majit, Advisor at the Turkish Embassy in Baku; as well as other parliament members, scientists, poets, writers, and intellectuals.
Held outdoors in the garden of the National Academy of Sciences, the event began with the playing of Azerbaijan’s National Anthem and a moment of silence in honor of the nation’s martyrs and heroes.
Throughout the festival, each day will highlight the literature of a different Turkic country. Participants from Türkiye, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Hungary, and other nations will conduct presentations, book signings, poetry readings, song and folklore concerts, and film screenings, celebrating the rich literary and cultural heritage of the Turkic world.
