2nd International Festival of Student Theaters “Turkic World” Begins in Azerbaijan
On May 20, 2024, the 2nd International Festival of Student Theaters "Turkic World" commenced in Baku. The festival, organized by TURKSOY and the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts (ADMİU), will feature various events.
The festival, held at the ADMİU stage, was a collaborative effort by the International Organization of Turkic Culture TURKSOY, the Ministry of Science and Education of Azerbaijan, and ADMİU, with support from the Ministry of Culture of Azerbaijan.
Notable attendees included TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev, ADMİU Rector Prof. Dr. Jeyran Mahmudova, Rector Arman Zhudebaev of the Kazakh National Academy of Arts named after Temirbek Zhurgenov, Rector Tumenbai Koldoshov of the Kyrgyz State University of Culture and Arts named after B. Beishenalieva, Rector Eldor Shermanov of the State Institute of Arts and Culture of Uzbekistan, and Prof. Dr. Erhan Ozden, Rector of Ankara University of Music and Fine Arts.
The festival opened with welcoming speeches from TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev and ADMİU Rector Prof. Dr. Jeyran Mahmudova. Azerbaijani students’ performance of “Kanli Nigar” (Bloody Nigar) received high praise from both participants and spectators.
