Presidents of Kazakhstan and Türkiye Hold Expanded Talks

The meeting between the Presidents of Kazakhstan and Türkiye continued with the participation of official delegations from both nations.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted that holding this meeting on the eve of the Republic Day of Türkiye was deeply symbolic, extending his warm congratulations to President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the brotherly Turkish people on this milestone holiday.

“Under your wise leadership, Türkiye is successfully executing large-scale transformations. The country is dynamically evolving through political and economic modernization, and its standing on the global stage strengthens every year. You are recognized as one of the world’s most influential leaders. Your principled political course and tireless efforts to preserve peace and justice have earned global recognition. I am confident that the prestige of the Turkish nation will continue to grow. Kazakhstan consistently supports Türkiye and genuinely rejoices in every success of our brotherly people,” the President of Kazakhstan stated.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized that he attaches paramount importance to expanding cooperation with Türkiye.

“Relations between Kazakhstan and Türkiye have deep roots, bound by a shared history, language, and similar traditions. Political interaction between our states rests on a solid foundation of mutual trust and unbreakable friendship. There are no contradictions or disagreements between us. Our countries consistently support each other bilaterally and within international organizations. Trade and economic ties are steadily expanding. Türkiye is one of Kazakhstan’s five largest trading partners and ranks among the top ten largest foreign investors in our national economy. Numerous major Turkish companies operate successfully in Kazakhstan, and we are prepared to provide comprehensive support to our Turkish partners while creating favorable conditions for their businesses,” the Head of State said.

According to Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s state visit to Kazakhstan in May yielded highly productive results, leading to several key agreements. The two nations held the sixth meeting of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council, launching major projects across trade, economic, investment, cultural, and humanitarian fields. Kazakh-Turkish relations have thus advanced to the level of eternal friendship and expanded strategic partnership.

“The steady development of our bilateral partnership serves our common interests. Tomorrow, we will jointly participate in the 13th Summit of the Organization of Turkic States. In the near future, Antalya will host the COP31 Climate Summit, which I intend to attend. Undoubtedly, all these events will give fresh impetus to strengthening both bilateral and multifaceted ties,” Kassym-Jomart Tokayev added.

In turn, the President of Türkiye congratulated the Kazakh Head of State and the brotherly Kazakh people on the recently celebrated Republic Day.

Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced that the presentation of the book The Phenomenon of Kurultai, dedicated to the history of Kazakh statehood, recently took place in Ankara. Additionally, the book Nauryz – Common Heritage of the Turkic World, which comprehensively explores the history and significance of the holiday, has been translated into the Kazakh language.

“During my visit to Astana in May, we signed a number of important documents, including the Declaration on Eternal Friendship and Expanded Strategic Partnership. We intend to reinforce our cooperation with practical steps during the next meeting of the Strategic Cooperation Council. Our goal is to increase trade turnover to $15 billion and invigorate the investment dimension of our bilateral relations,” the Turkish leader stated.

During the talks, the parties also discussed expanding cooperation in transport and logistics, energy, artificial intelligence, agriculture, the defense industry, as well as strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties.
