Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan has agreen on building “Kambarata” hydroekectric power plant which will be the largest power plant in Kyrgyzstan and will provide electricity in Central Asia and stabilize the region’s water provision, Turanews.kz reports citing press service of Ministry of Energy of Republic of Kazakhstan

As part of the roadmap signed by the Ministers of Energy of of Kazakhstan Bolat Akchulakov, of Kyrgyzstan Taalaibek Ibraev, of Uzbekistan Zhurabek Mirzamakhmudov, the parties agreed on the main terms and conditions for the project and outlined further steps for the timely commissioning of the power plant.

At the meeting, the parties emphasized that the implementation of the project should be fair and beneficial for all participating countries.

The capacity of the future HPP will be 1,860 MW. The HPP reservoir will have a volume of 5.4 billion cubic meters. The plant will annually produce an average of 5.6 billion kWh of electricity.
