During his high-level meeting with President Ilham Aliyev in Gabala, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed readiness to hold the next round of negotiations with Russia in Azerbaijan.
Zelenskyy noted that Ukraine is open to reviving the trilateral format, provided that Russia shows a genuine commitment to diplomacy. This proposal follows previous rounds of talks held in Turkiye and Switzerland.
The bilateral discussions also focused on strengthening economic and strategic ties. With trade turnover surpassing $500 million, the leaders explored new opportunities in energy, industry, and military-technical cooperation. Six key cooperation documents were signed, and Zelenskyy formally thanked Azerbaijan for its continuous humanitarian aid and support for Ukrainian children’s welfare.
