Japarov Reaffirms International Recognition of Kyrgyz Driving Licenses

During a meeting with residents of the Alay district, President Sadyr Japarov addressed ongoing rumors regarding the validity of Kyrgyz driving licenses abroad.

According to the Kabar News Agency, Japarov firmly dismissed claims that the documents are not recognized internationally, stating that they fully comply with global standards and are accepted across Russia and European nations.

The President highlighted that prior to 2020, the production of passports and licenses was outsourced to foreign entities, a practice that fostered corruption. Currently, Kyrgyzstan has fully localized the manufacturing of all state documents. Japarov suggested that the misinformation campaigns are being fueled by corrupt groups whose financial interests were dismantled by recent administrative reforms.
