President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has formally expressed his support for the comprehensive ceasefire agreement reached in the Middle East, according to Zakon.kz.
This significant diplomatic breakthrough was facilitated through the mediation of Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir. Tokayev praised the collective “wisdom and goodwill” shown by U.S. President Donald Trump, the Iranian leadership, and all parties involved in the military conflict.
The Kazakh leader emphasized his hope that this truce will be long-lasting, viewing it as a vital foundation for global trade stability and international economic prosperity. The deal follows an announcement by President Trump on his Truth Social platform, stating that the U.S. will suspend military operations against Iran for two weeks. In exchange, Iran and involved regional actors must guarantee the unhindered passage of commercial vessels through the strategic Strait of Hormuz during this period.
