President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a telephone conversation with President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan. During the call, Mirziyoyev congratulated Tokayev on the successful conduct of the referendum regarding the draft of the new Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The President of Uzbekistan emphasized that the referendum results clearly demonstrate the people’s confidence in the large-scale reforms being carried out under President Tokayev’s leadership.
The Head of State thanked Shavkat Mirziyoyev for his support and for dispatching an observer mission from Uzbekistan, including those participating within international organizations. President Tokayev noted that the new Constitution is progressive, meets the demands of the times, and is aimed at ensuring the sustainable and comprehensive development of the state. He added that during the transformation process, special attention will be paid to strengthening cooperation with international partners, particularly with Kazakhstan’s closest neighbors and allies.
The leaders also highlighted several key diplomatic points:

Strategic Partnership: Both sides noted the positive dynamics of Kazakh-Uzbek relations, which continue to strengthen in the spirit of strategic partnership and alliance.

Implementation of Agreements: Satisfaction was expressed regarding the progress of previously reached agreements and decisions made by the Supreme Interstate Council.

Regional Agenda: The presidents exchanged views on pressing regional and international issues and reviewed the schedule for upcoming high-level contacts.
Both parties agreed to continue active engagement and interaction at all levels of government.
