Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has addressed the recent military escalation involving a ballistic missile launched from Iranian territory toward Turkish airspace. Speaking to the press via Anadolu Agency, the President affirmed that Turkey remains in a state of high alert.
Erdoğan emphasized that the security of the nation’s borders and airspace is a non-negotiable priority during these turbulent times. He stated that Turkey is working in “close coordination with NATO allies” to implement defensive measures and is prepared to retaliate instantly if provoked.
The Turkish leader confirmed that a “severe warning” has been issued to prevent a recurrence of the breach. This statement follows a report from the Turkish Ministry of National Defense, which confirmed that the ballistic missile was successfully neutralized before it could pose a threat to the mainland.
