TURKSOY Secretary General Attends “Turkic World: Shared Roots, Shared Heritage” Exhibition In Astana

The Secretary General of TURKSOY, Sultan Raev, took part in cultural and literary events held on March 2, 2026, at the National Academic Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Astana, Басты бет – TuraNews reports.

The program was organized within the framework of the “Qalamger Sheberkhanasy” project implemented by the Astana branch of the Union of Writers of Kazakhstan, with support from the city’s Department for Language Development and Archival Affairs and the National Academic Library. Writers, scholars, academics, students, and members of the intellectual community attended the event.

During his visit, Raev met with Library Director Kumis Seitova to discuss promoting the shared literary heritage of Turkic peoples and launching joint initiatives aimed at strengthening cultural and humanitarian cooperation.

As part of the event, an exhibition titled “Turkic World: Shared Roots, Shared Heritage” was opened, featuring books donated by the Secretary General to the library’s collection. The display highlighted works reflecting the rich literary traditions and spiritual continuity of Turkic nations.

The central highlight of the program was Raev’s lecture, “Literary Process and Literary Integration,” delivered at the M. Makataev Hall. He addressed current trends in Turkic literature and emphasized the importance of literary integration in fostering cultural unity.

The program also featured a performance by renowned Kyrgyz epic narrator Bayangali Alimzhanov, who recited an excerpt from the epic “Manas.”
