The discussions focused on prospects for joint investment projects in the energy and telecommunications sectors. Tokayev highlighted that large-scale gas initiatives covering processing, transportation and power generation form the backbone of Kazakh-Qatari investment cooperation and play a vital role in strengthening the country’s energy security.
The President was also briefed on PIH’s plans to expand its footprint in Kazakhstan’s telecom market through the acquisition of Mobile Telecom Service (Tele2). He expressed confidence that the company’s involvement would accelerate infrastructure modernization, improve service quality and enhance accessibility for consumers.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to deepening cooperation and advancing promising investment projects.
