Water as a Cultural Journey: Turkish Artist Exhibits in Astana
An international art exhibition titled “Tracing the Water: From the Bosphorus to the Great Steppe” has opened in the capital of Kazakhstan.
The showcase features watercolor works by renowned Turkish artist Ahmet Oğreten, centered on the theme of water and natural landscapes.
The official opening ceremony took place at the Palace of Peace and Reconciliation in Astana. Through his paintings, the artist presents water not only as a natural element, but also as a symbol of movement, connection, and cultural dialogue. The exhibition brings together scenic views of the Bosphorus coastline and the vast expanses of the Kazakh steppe.
The project is curated by well-known Kazakh artist Leila Makhat. According to the organizers, the exhibition highlights artistic exchange and strengthens cultural ties between the two countries.
The event is supported by the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Astana. Visitors can explore the exhibition until March 12, 2026.
