Astana will host one of the region’s largest technology events as ALEM TECH FEST 2026 takes place from February 11 to 13 at the EXPO International Exhibition Center.

According to Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Education, the festival is expected to gather more than 5,000 school students from seven countries, including Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Estonia, Hong Kong and Vietnam. The event will cover 15,000 square meters, turning the venue into a hub of robotics, artificial intelligence, STEM and engineering innovation.
A key highlight of the festival will be the Central Asia FIRST Championship, part of the global FIRST program, where teams will showcase their engineering solutions. The agenda also features the Alem Drone League, humanoid robot demonstrations, RoboCup competitions, Battle of Bots and the Hour of AI initiative.
At the conclusion of the championship, 50 top teams will be selected. Fourteen of them will qualify for the FIRST Championship world finals in Houston, USA. The remaining teams will advance to international competitions scheduled in Canada, Mexico, the Netherlands, Türkiye, the UAE, China, Greece and South Korea.
Organizers say the festival aims to strengthen international cooperation and inspire a new generation of tech innovators across Central Asia.
