Dushanbe International Airport is set to significantly expand its capacity, with plans to handle up to 5 million passengers annually after the construction of a new terminal.
Speaking at a press conference, Zainullo Sharifzoda, Director General of Dushanbe International Airport, announced that a new terminal will be built to replace the outdated domestic flights facility.
The new terminal is expected to serve around 3 million passengers per year. Together with the existing international terminal, the airport’s total annual capacity will reach 5 million passengers.
Design work has already been completed, and construction is expected to begin soon. The new facility is scheduled to be commissioned within two years.
