Kyrgyzstan has introduced a temporary measure permitting the legalization of jewelry made from precious metals without supporting documentation until March 1, 2026, the State Tax Service announced.
The initiative aims to streamline the circulation of jewelry products, enhance transparency in the sector, and ease administrative pressure on law-abiding entrepreneurs.
During the legalization campaign, reduced assay fees will apply. For domestically produced gold, platinum, and palladium items, as well as pre-owned imported jewelry obtained from individuals or legal entities, the fee is set at 10 soms per item. Silver jewelry will be subject to a fee of 8 soms per piece.
Amendments to the Code of Offenses stipulate fines for operating without proper registration: 5,000 soms for individuals and 13,000 soms for legal entities.
To avoid penalties, businesses must register the relevant electronic documentation through the electronic invoicing system before the March acknowledges the deadline.
Earlier, Kyrgyz jewelers were exempted from VAT in 2025. Additionally, a moratorium on tax inspections for businesses remains in effect until December 31, 2026.
