Online money transfers in Kazakhstan could soon be subject to tighter regulations. A draft document outlining the proposed changes has been published on the Open Legal Acts portal, according to local media reports.
Under the proposal, the simplified identification procedure previously available for electronic money holders may be отменed. All users would be required to undergo full identification. However, the draft does not clearly specify how the updated verification process will be implemented in practice.
At the same time, electronic banking services are expected to become more accessible for persons with disabilities. The new regulation предусматривает the mandatory use of biometric authentication by banks when providing digital services.
The document is open for public discussion until February 20. Citizens of Kazakhstan can submit their comments and suggestions through the Open portal.
