The world marks International Volunteer Day on December 5 — a date established by the UN General Assembly to recognize the work of volunteers globally. This year’s theme, “Every Contribution Matters,” highlights the launch of the International Year of Volunteers for Sustainable Development, which the UN has designated for 2026.
Kazakhstan’s volunteer movement continues to expand, bringing together a large community of active citizens dedicated to helping others. Volunteers play a key role in addressing social and environmental challenges, supporting vulnerable groups, and participating in search-and-rescue efforts across the country.
On this day, heartfelt gratitude goes out to every volunteer for their compassion, commitment, and meaningful contribution to Kazakhstan’s development.
