Preparations for a new movie featuring world-renowned actor and producer Jackie Chan have begun in Kazakhstan. According to Lada.kz, Mangystau Region is being considered as one of the main filming locations.
The regional Tourism Department confirmed that the production team behind the upcoming installment of the iconic franchise Armor of God: Ultimatum arrived in Aktau to explore both urban and natural filming sites.
Originally released in 1986, Armor of God remains one of the most influential films in Jackie Chan’s career. Bringing the franchise to Kazakhstan could become a major boost for the country’s film industry.
Upon arrival, the film crew met with the regional akim to discuss logistics and potential support measures for the project.
If officially approved, Mangystau may become part of global cinematic history and appear for the first time in a major international action film starring Jackie Chan.
