The International Turkic Academy has celebrated its 15th anniversary — a milestone highlighting the growing scientific and cultural cohesion of the Turkic world, Kazinform reports.
Over the past decade and a half, the institution has evolved from a regional initiative into a prominent international research center contributing to global humanitarian studies and intergovernmental cooperation.
The concept of establishing a unified platform for the study of Turkic heritage first emerged in the early 2000s. The Academy was officially founded in 2009 at Kazakhstan’s initiative and later received international organization status with the support of the Turkic Council (now the Organization of Turkic States).
According to Academy President Professor Shahin Mustafayev, the Academy’s core mission is to deepen scientific integration across the Turkic world and to develop joint research platforms that preserve the shared intellectual heritage for future generations.
The anniversary event in Ankara highlighted both achievements and future priorities. Plans include expanding archaeological expeditions, digitizing Turkic cultural heritage, developing international educational programs and strengthening cooperation within the Organization of Turkic States.
Today, the International Turkic Academy acts as an intellectual bridge — linking the past and present of the Turkic world and uniting the cultures and peoples of a shared future.
