The Ministry of National Defense of Türkiye has confirmed that 20 military personnel were killed in the crash of a C-130 military transport aircraft in Georgia, Kazinform reports.
The ministry released the list of the deceased on its official X account, stating:
“On November 11, due to the crash of a C-130 military transport aircraft near the Georgia–Azerbaijan border, 20 of our servicemen on board lost their lives. At 6:30 a.m., in coordination with Georgian authorities, search and rescue operations and an investigation began at the crash site.”
According to earlier reports, the Turkish C-130 aircraft took off from Ganja Airport in Azerbaijan and crashed in Georgia’s Sighnaghi municipality shortly after crossing the border. The plane disappeared from radar about five kilometers inside Georgian territory and reportedly did not issue any distress signal before the crash.
Later, Georgian and Azerbaijani authorities confirmed that wreckage from the Turkish military aircraft had been located near the border area.
