Türkiye Eases Employment Rules for Citizens of Turkic States

President of the Republic of Türkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, has signed a decree simplifying the employment process for citizens of Turkic nations seeking to work in Türkiye.

The decree, published in the government’s official gazette, introduces amendments to the law allowing “Turkic-origin foreigners to freely practice their professions and crafts, as well as work in both public and private sectors.”

Under the new regulations, citizens of Turkic countries will now be able to work legally in Türkiye with equal rights to Turkish citizens — whether in government institutions, private companies, or skilled trade professions.

To obtain employment, individuals must hold a valid residence permit, pose no threat to national security, provide recognition of diploma equivalency, and verify their affiliation with the Turkic community.

Experts describe this decision as marking a new stage in cooperation among Turkic nations — a concrete step reflecting Ankara’s long-standing emphasis on unity and brotherhood across the Turkic world.
