The city of Gabala in Azerbaijan hosted the meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS). TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev also attended the event, presenting the shared cultural heritage of the Turkic world.
During the meeting, Sultan Raev spoke about the events organized in Aktau, the 2025 Cultural Capital of the Turkic World. He emphasized that the activities held throughout the year had a significant impact on cultural relations among Turkic nations:
“Aktau has become a cultural and artistic hub of the Turkic world on the shores of the Caspian Sea. The grand opening ceremony was attended by more than 100,000 spectators. Throughout the year, dozens of events in theater, cinema, painting, music, and literature were organized. These activities strengthened the cultural brotherhood among Turkic peoples,” Raev said.
He also noted that the TURKSOY Theatre Festival, the Turkic World Young Writers Meeting, the International Folk Music and Dance Festival, the Artists’ Exhibition, the Photography Days, and the Korkut Ata Film Festival attracted great interest from audiences.
