Kyrgyzstan Imposes Temporary Ban on Oil Exports Outside EAEU

Kyrgyzstan has introduced a temporary ban on the export of crude oil and petroleum products beyond the borders of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), the country’s Cabinet of Ministers announced.

The restrictions apply to oil classified under EAEU HS code 2709 and petroleum products under code 2710, transported by road or rail. However, domestically produced fuel oil and heating oil remain exempt from the ban.

The decision takes effect upon official publication.

This move follows regional trends aimed at stabilizing fuel markets. On September 30, Russia extended its own ban on gasoline exports and restricted other fuel types until the end of 2025, citing the need to secure its domestic market. The Russian restrictions apply to all exporters, including producers.
