Israel Intensifies Gaza Offensive as Death Toll Surpasses 65,000

Israeli forces have entered Gaza City, escalating their ground operation amid heavy bombardments. According to Euronews, mass displacement continues as residents flee, while repeated strikes disrupt phone and internet services.
The Israeli military reported that more than 150 artillery strikes were carried out this week, destroying several high-rise buildings allegedly used by Hamas as military command posts.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) state their objective is to dismantle Hamas’s military infrastructure, but have not indicated how long the operation will last. They describe Gaza as the group’s central stronghold.
Since the beginning of the ground offensive, around 500,000 Palestinians have fled the enclave, the IDF claims.
Hospital officials in Gaza confirmed that at least 16 people, including women and children, were killed in overnight airstrikes. The Hamas-run Health Ministry reported the overall death toll has climbed to 65,062, noting that roughly half of the victims are women and children.
