Eurasian Intergovernmental Council to Convene in Kyrgyzstan

The next meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council will take place on 14–15 August in Cholpon-Ata, Issyk-Kul Region, Kyrgyzstan.

According to the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), heads of government from the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) member states will discuss a broad range of issues related to integration within the Union. The agenda includes:

approval of a program to develop exchange trading in the EAEU’s common commodity market;

  • the EEC’s annual report on competition in cross-border markets in 2024 and measures to prevent violations of common competition rules;
  • report on the development of common oil and petroleum products markets;
  • report on the creation of the EAEU common gas market;
  • amendments to the 2024–2026 coordinated transport policy action plan;
  • progress in digitalizing freight rail transport and transport corridors in cooperation with China;
  • implementation of measures related to the EAEU’s climate agenda;
  • assessment of the feasibility of harmonizing qualification requirements for in-demand professions and the procedure for professional qualification recognition;
  • concept for developing common markets for pharmaceuticals and medical devices in the EAEU.
