Kyrgyzstan Plans to Bring Migrant Workers Back Home
During a working trip to Naryn Region, at a ceremony for handing over special equipment, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and State Committee for National Security (SCNS) chief Kamchybek Tashiev stressed the need to bring Kyrgyz migrant workers back to the country.

According to him, 127 major projects worth a total of 15 billion soms are currently being implemented in Naryn Region.
“To utilize these funds and complete construction, we need equipment and manpower. Our citizens go abroad to earn money and become migrants. They must return. The President has said we would bring them back, and now the time has come. There is plenty of work for our people — on construction sites, operating machinery, and serving the community. Right now, we face a labor shortage,” Tashiev said.
He noted that two concrete plants have been built in the region, but one has halted operations due to low-quality concrete. “We lack materials and raw resources. This is a clear sign of an increase in construction volumes not seen in years,” he added.
Tashiev also emphasized that after completing the border delimitation process with Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, the government has turned its focus to internal issues. “Kyrgyzstan has truly become a sovereign state. For 30 years we said this, but our borders remained open. Now every meter of land is defined, and we can focus on major domestic challenges. Construction is underway not only in Naryn but across the country,” he said.
He announced plans to return to Naryn in October to assess the quality of construction work and road conditions.
