The football associations of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan have jointly submitted a bid to FIFA to host the 2027 FIFA U-20 World Cup, according to a statement from the Uzbekistan Football Association (UFA).

Both nations have highlighted their recent achievements in developing football infrastructure and gaining recognition on the international stage. The federations expressed strong confidence in their ability to host the tournament at the highest organizational standards.

In recent years, Uzbekistan has upgraded its stadiums to meet international requirements. The country has also gained experience by hosting major events such as the U-20 and U-23 Asian Championships, and notably, the 2024 Futsal World Cup—the first of its kind held in Central Asia.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino praised the futsal tournament, calling it one of the best-organized World Cups in the sport’s history.
