President Chairs Security Council Meeting Focused on Migration Issues

President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev chaired a regular meeting of Kazakhstan’s Security Council, where key trends in internal and external migration were reviewed.

The session included reports from Deputy Prime Minister Yerzhan Kosherbayev, as well as ministers of Internal Affairs, Digital Development, Labor and Social Protection, and Aerospace Industry.

President Tokayev emphasized the importance of considering geopolitical shifts, demographic forecasts, and the underlying motivations behind population movements when shaping national migration policy.

He also highlighted the need to strengthen control measures against illegal migration and to focus on enhancing the country’s human capital.
