Uzbekistan’s population exceeds 36 million

The male population of the country is estimated at 18.1 million, the female - 17.9 million people.

The press service of the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan stated that the resident population of Uzbekistan exceeded 36 million as of December 9.

The country’s male population is estimated at 18.1 million, while the female population is 17.9 million.

Based on the results of the first three quarters of the year (as of October 1), the country’s permanent population was estimated at 35.821 million, having increased by 549.7 thousand or 1.6 percent since the beginning of the year.

As of early 2022, the resident population was over 35.271 million.

According to preliminary data, in November 2022, 83,197 births were registered in the registry offices in the republic.

This figure increased by 5,377 compared to the same period last year.

The resident population is the population permanently residing at the time of the census in a particular locality or territory, including those temporarily absent.

In terms of population, Uzbekistan ranks 41st in the world, the State Statistics Committee reported.
