
The truce reportedly came into effect after Iran carried out four drone strikes on Israeli-occupied territories. The ceasefire was mediated by the United States and Qatar. Former U.S. President Donald Trump had earlier announced that hostilities between the two nations had fully ceased.
On the night of June 13, Israeli air forces launched a major strike on Iranian targets, causing explosions across Tehran. In response, Israel declared a state of emergency and shut down its airspace.
Iran later confirmed that several high-ranking military commanders and leading scientists were killed in the attacks.
In retaliation, Iran launched over 100 drones toward Israel.
Trump also described a U.S.-led military operation targeting Iran’s nuclear infrastructure as a “highly successful mission.”
