Iran’s Non-Oil Exports to Kazakhstan Drop Sharply

Iran’s non-oil exports to Kazakhstan fell significantly in both value and volume during the first two months of the current Iranian year (March 21 to May 21, 2025).

According to data from Iran’s Customs Administration, exports to Kazakhstan during this period totaled 60.8 thousand tons, worth $29.4 million — a decline of 31.4% in value and 30.7% in volume compared to the same timeframe in 2024, when Iran exported 87.8 thousand tons of goods worth $42.9 million.

Iran mainly exports agricultural and food products, tobacco, and petrochemical goods to Kazakhstan.

Overall trade turnover between the two countries reached $36 million and 82.8 thousand tons in volume — marking a 36.3% decrease in value and 33.3% in volume year-on-year.

Nationwide, Iran exported 24.6 million tons of non-oil goods worth $8.24 billion during the same period. While the export value saw a marginal drop of 0.11%, the volume increased by 4.4%.
