Türkiye strengthens border security amid Middle East tensions

In response to escalating tensions in the Middle East, Türkiye has reinforced security measures along its national borders.

According to Anadolu Agency, the announcement came from Turkish National Defense Ministry spokesperson Zeki Aktürk during a weekly briefing.

Aktürk noted that, despite the conflict between Israel and Iran, there has been no significant increase in illegal border crossings. However, the Turkish Armed Forces are taking all necessary precautions in anticipation of potential migration flows.

In the past week alone, Turkish border units detained 122 individuals, including two with links to terrorist organizations. Since the beginning of the year, a total of 2,681 people have been apprehended attempting to cross the border illegally.
