EU–Central Asia Economic Forum to Be Held in Uzbekistan This November

Uzbekistan is set to host this year’s European Union–Central Asia Economic and Investment Forum in November

The announcement was made by EU Ambassador to Uzbekistan Toivo Klaar, Monday.

“We are planning to hold the EU–Central Asia economic and investment forum in November, focusing on business cooperation between the regions,” Klaar stated.

He also mentioned that Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev is expected to pay an official visit to Belgium later this year, during which an Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement may be signed.

The first and second editions of the forum were held in Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan respectively. Earlier this year, on April 4, the inaugural EU–Central Asia Summit took place in Samarkand, where Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev proposed several initiatives.
