Türkiye Extends Museum Hours with “Night Museum” Project Starting June 1
Türkiye’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism is bringing back its popular “Night Museum” initiative this summer, allowing locals and tourists to explore historical sites and museums during the evening and nighttime hours.

According to TRT Haber, the project — which resumes on June 1 — aims to promote Türkiye’s rich cultural heritage, provide visitors with a unique atmosphere, and boost year-round tourism.
Several key locations will extend their visiting hours, including:
- Ephesus (Izmir): Ancient Roman city with the Temple of Artemis and Library of Celsus (open until 23:00).
- Galata Tower (Istanbul): Iconic panoramic spot dating back to the 14th century (until 23:00).
- Museum of Anatolian Civilizations & Ethnography Museum (Ankara): Featuring archaeological and cultural collections (until 21:00).
- Aspendos & Patara (Antalya): Roman amphitheater and ancient administrative center (until 22:00).
- Underground Cities of Cappadocia: Derinkuyu, Kaymaklı, Özkonak (until 21:00).
- Zeugma Mosaic Museum (Gaziantep) & Şanlıurfa Museums: Home to intricate mosaics and Göbekli Tepe artifacts (until 21:00).
- Hierapolis (Denizli): Near Pamukkale, open until 23:00.
The Sardis ancient city in Manisa will also join the program later in June.
This initiative invites both domestic and international visitors to experience Türkiye’s historical treasures under the moonlight, offering cooler temperatures and a magical ambiance.
