
In response, the local pest control agency divided its teams into two brigades and treated 4,509 hectares of land with pesticides. A total of 15 chemical operations were conducted using specialized equipment, and the situation is now reported to be under full control.
The affected zones include Gazli, Romitan, Karakul, and Taylak districts, which are under increased surveillance. Nationwide, monitoring has covered 472,739 hectares, identifying locust infestations on 267,267 hectares, of which 244,530 hectares have already been treated.
The Plant Quarantine and Protection Agency clarified that the locust species involved does not damage agricultural crops. Emergency teams continue rapid intervention in areas where infestations are detected.
