Air Marshal Awadesh Kumar Bharti confirmed during a briefing, as reported by TASS.
“We did not allow their planes to cross our border. Several were downed,” he stated.
Bharti declined to disclose whether the Indian Air Force suffered any losses, citing ongoing operations. “Sharing such details now would offer a tactical edge to the enemy. What I can say is that all our pilots returned safely and we achieved our objectives,” he emphasized.
Tensions between India and Pakistan escalated after a deadly terrorist attack on April 22 in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, killing 25 Indians and four Nepalese nationals. In response, the Indian Air Force launched Operation Sindhur on the night of May 7, striking terrorist bases inside Pakistan.
