Türkiye and Libya Aim to Boost Bilateral Trade to $10 Billion Annually

Current trade volume between the two nations stands at $3.7 billion.

According to Anadolu Agency, Libya’s Minister of Economy and Trade, Mohamed Huweij, stated after talks with Turkish Trade Minister Ömer Bolat in Tripoli that both countries plan to raise their annual bilateral trade volume to $10 billion.

The ministers agreed to revisit existing memorandums and agreements in light of global economic developments and to work toward a new model for long-term cooperation between Türkiye and Libya.

Huweij, Bolat, and the Governor of Libya’s Central Bank held a trilateral meeting, where they discussed reviving halted projects, re-engaging Turkish companies, and resolving issues related to banking guarantees.

A joint economic committee has also been established to monitor partnership-related challenges and facilitate coordination between Turkish and Libyan businesses.
