According to Kyrgyzstan’s Ministry of Health, 5,168 measles cases have been reported as of April 8, 2025, with more than half occurring in Bishkek. Local media outlet 24.kg confirmed that nine children have died due to the disease.

The Republican Center for Immunoprophylaxis reported that 95% of patients were unvaccinated. Reasons included age restrictions (31%), parental refusal (44%), migration issues (1%), and medical exemptions (9%). For 9% of cases, vaccination status remains unknown. Only 282 individuals had received one or two doses of the MMR vaccine.

The Ministry emphasized that patients included both those who had not reached vaccination age and those who had not completed the full immunization schedule. Updated figures are expected soon from the immunization center.
