Aktau Named the Cultural Capital of the Turkic World

In 2025, the city of Aktau was officially designated as the Cultural Capital of the Turkic World. A grand opening ceremony was held on the shores of the Caspian Sea to mark the occasion, impressively organized and attended by a massive audience.

More than 100,000 spectators gathered to witness the celebration. Initially, drone operators estimated the crowd at around 50,000, but the final count revealed attendance had doubled.

The festive program featured performances from vocal and dance groups representing the shared cultural heritage of the Turkic world.

Renowned artists from Kazakhstan and other TURKSOY member countries lit up the stage, including Dimash Kudaibergen, Kalifarniya (Kazakhstan), Meirbek Atabekov (Kyrgyzstan), Roza Zargarly (Azerbaijan), and the legendary band Yalla (Uzbekistan).
