President Tokayev Visits Key Sites in the Capital

The press service of Akorda has reported that President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev visited several significant sites in the capital.

One of the key locations was the newly constructed building of the Archive of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The relocation of the Archive from Almaty to the capital is being carried out in accordance with the President’s directive. This facility is the first of its kind in Central Asia, serving not only as a repository of the nation’s documentary heritage but also as an educational and scientific-methodological center.

The specialized facility includes archival storage areas, a laboratory complex, an interactive exhibition hall, a reading room, workspaces, and administrative zones. It features 24 storage units designed to house documents, audiovisual materials, microfilm insurance collections, and electronic records.

The Archive of the President holds a comprehensive collection of documents on Kazakhstan’s political history dating back to 1918, covering the establishment of the sovereign state, its foreign and domestic policies, international relations, economic transformation processes, and socio-cultural development.

Following this visit, President Tokayev reviewed the ongoing reconstruction of the Kazakh National University of Arts named after K. Baisseitova.

Officials briefed the President that the renovation has expanded the university’s main building by 10,000 square meters, bringing the total area to approximately 38,000 square meters.

The modernization project not only increased space but also introduced new specialized classrooms. One of the major additions is a large concert hall with a capacity of 1,100 seats, designed for hosting large-scale events. Additionally, the building now features a chamber hall for academic music, rehearsal studios, exhibition galleries for students and guest artists, and other upgraded facilities.
